Photomerge · Updated 4 September 2026

Photomerge is a Windows program that sorts photographs and videos into folders and renames them by the date they were taken.

In short

The program collects nothing. Your photographs, their names, the folders you choose and everything read from the files stay on your computer.

What the program does on your computer

That is all of it. Nothing is uploaded, and file contents are never re-encoded or altered.

Network

The program makes no network requests of its own: no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, no update checks.

There is one exception, and the request is not ours. A copy installed from the Microsoft Store asks Windows whether the add-on that removes the promotional strip has been purchased. That question is answered by the Microsoft Store, which may contact Microsoft servers to answer it. We receive only «purchased» or «not purchased» — no personal data — and we store nothing. Copies not installed from the Microsoft Store never ask.

Version 1.0 has neither the promotional strip nor the purchase, so none of this happens yet. It is written down in advance because that is how a later version will work.

Purchases

Any purchase is handled entirely by the Microsoft Store. We never see card details or your Microsoft account. What the Store itself collects is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles the requests and keeps short-lived technical logs as part of delivering the page.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the version of the program the change applies to says so in its release notes.
